Dr Martires is the UEP Officer-in-Charge
On the 1st day of July 2015, Dr. Baltazar G. Martires, UEP Vice-President for Administration and Finance assumed the position of Officer-In-Charge (OIC), Office of the President, UEP, on the appointment of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The CHED issued Special Order No. 42 on the 29th of June 2015, Atty. Mar P. De Asis’ s term ended on June 30, 2015. OIC Dr. Martires is directed to discharge all the day-to-day routinary duties and responsibilities. He is to see to the maintenance of the stability and regularity of the academic as well as administrative operation of the university, until a new President is elected.
Dr. Martires is pursuing his Doctor of Management in Northwest Samar State University, Calbayog City. He holds a a Master in Management Major in Public Management (MMPM) in 2011 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1979 in the UEP, University Town, Northern Samar.
As a veterinarian, he has worked in different institutions and establishments both inside and outside the Philippines. In both work and academic experiences, he received several awards and among them are being the Best Inspector, 1995, in the Health Department, Veterinary Services Section at Dubai United Arab Emirates; and Best Re-entry Plan, in Public Management at UEP Graduate Studies. Then, he has also rendered multiple services to the university as an Instructor, in 1999-2015; an Assistant Professor III in 2013; Assistant Director, Auxiliary Services Unit, in 2006-2007; Manager, University Prints Arts and Signs, in 2008-2010; Director, National Service Training Program, in 2010-2011; Head, General Services Unit, 2007-2011; and lastly as the Vice-President for Administration and Finance in 2011- present.
