Program’s Learning Outcomes
The graduates of the BS Nursing program should be able to:
1.Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences, and humanities in the practice of nursing.
2.Provide safe, appropriate, and holistic care to individuals, families, population group and community utilizing nursing process.
3.Apply guidelines and principles of evidence-based practice in the delivery of care.
4.Practice nursing in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical, and moral principles.
5.Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally appropriate language.
6.Document to include reporting up-to-date client care accurately and comprehensively.
7.Work effectively in collaboration with inter-, intra-, and multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
8.Practice beginning management and leadership in the delivery of client care skills using a systems approach.
9.Conduct research with an experienced researcher.
10.Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global development in general, and nursing and health development in particular.
11.Demonstrate responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino.
12.Apply techno-intelligent care systems and processes in health care delivery.
13.Adopt the nursing core values in the practice of the profession.
14.Apply entrepreneurial skills the delivery of Nursing Care.
Retention Policies
General Provision:
1.Students must satisfactorily pass all the courses in order to be promoted to the next higher level, or to pass the course. The academic standing of the student is based upon theory and clinical experience and the demonstration of his/her amplitudes and personal fitness and compliance with the policies guidelines, rules regulations for nursing throughout each semester as well as upon the results of his/her monthly semestral exams
2.The faculty of the college of nursing and allied health sciences, with the approval of the vice president for academic affairs and the president reserves the right after due process to cancel the enrollment of any student who is found to be unsuited for the nursing profession, and to require the withdrawal of any student when its judgment, his/her behavior is detrimental to the interest of the college of nursing and allied health sciences
3. GRADING SYSTEM
In order to acquire uniformity of grading, standard grading system provided by the university is followed:
- 1.0 (96%-100) Excellent
- 25 (94%-95%) Superior
- 50 (92%-93%) Very Good
- 75 (89%-91%) Good
- 2.0 (87%-88%) Highly Satisfactory
- 2.5 (84%-86%) Very satisfactory
- 5.0 (82%-83%) Satisfactory
- 75 (79%-81%) Moderately Satisfactory
- 3.0 (75%-78%) Fair
- 5.0 Poor
- INC Incomplete
- DR Dropped
-“INC” is given to a subject which the student lacks academic requirement or missed any of major exams. The student has to complete the grade of “INC” before the enrollment of the next semester, otherwise s/he will not be allowed to enroll.
- -“DR” is given to student if s/he accumulated absences beyond the allowable limit. the college of nursing will adopt the university’s policy in dropping a subject.
-Art. 351. A Student may, with the consent of his/her instructor and dean or director, drop a subject by filling out the prescribed form; provided, that his/her case is not covered by the article 344. If the dropping takes place after three-fourths of the hour prescribed for the course has elapsed, the faculty member concerned shall be requested to state in the form mentioned above whether the nurse or the student shall be given of “5” for the course, on the basis of his/her class standing for that subject.
– Art. 352. Any student who drops a course without the approval of his/her registration privileges curtailed or entirely withdrawn.
– Art. 353. Any college or school may enact special rules on dropping of courses which would meet its particular needs: provided, that said rules do not have the effect of relating the preceding general regulations.
