SCHOOL ADMISSION, DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS, CODE OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE, AND AUTHORIZED FEES
A. ADMISSION POLICIES
General
As stated in Chapter 17, Article 328 of the University Code, “no student shall be denied admission to the University by reason of age, sex, nationality, religious beliefs, or political affiliation. Moreover, article 329 states that “applicants must have graduated from recognized schools, have complete and valid credentials, and met the prescribed requirements and qualified in the University Admission, to assign the pledge “in consideration of my admission to the University of Eastern Philippines and of the privileges of a student in this institution, “I hereby pledge to abide by and comply with all the rules and regulations laid down by competent authority of the University and of the school in which I am enrolled.
Specific
Aside from the general admission policy, the school has set its admission requirements.
Incoming Grade 7
In Science stream, the Applicant
1. Must belong to the upper ten percent (10%) of the graduates
2. Must have a GWA of the least 88% or better and no grade below 81 in English, Science and Math
3. Must be of good moral character
4. Must have taken and passed the Entrance Examination administered by UGTC
In BEC Stream, the applicant
1. Must have a GWA of at least 81%
2. Must be a legitimate or legally adopted child of a qualified UEP faculty or employee.
3. Must be of good moral character
4. Must have taken the Entrance Examination administered by UGTC
Student’s Population Quota
The UEP Laboratory High School Main Campus is entitled to 300 students from Grade 7 to Grade 10. Quota for incoming Grade 7 will be determined by the school and will be announced every March 31.
Entrance Examination
All applicants shall take the Entrance Examination scheduled every first Friday of May administered by the UGTC and the result is one of the components for ranking.
Applicants shall be ranked according to the following criteria:
Entrance Examination Result 60%
General Weighted Average 10%
Interview 30%
Admission Privilege
Legitimate or legally adopted children of UEP faculty and employees who have been in the service for at least two (2) years whether on temporary or permanent status or at least five (5)years continuous service as casual employee may take the entrance examination. If qualified, they will be given slot in the Science Stream, and if not, they will be given slot in the BEC stream.
All qualified UEP faculty and employees school should enlist their incoming Grade 7 students at the UEPLHS Guidance Office on or before March 30 of each year for the school to determine the quota/number of Grade 7 students the following school year. Failure to enlist their children on the given schedule would mean forfeiture of their slot.
Graduates from the UEPLHS, Catarman SPED Center and ADFC who do not belong to the upper 10 percent (10%) but with GWA of 90% or better and with no grades below 85% in English, Science and Math in anay grading period, and have a final rating of at least 90% in English, Science and Math may be allowed to take the Entrance Examination.
Transferees/Returning Students
The applicant shall be legitimate or legally adopted child/children of UEP faculty and employees with two (2) years’ of service as permanent or temporary, or five (5) years as casual; with a GWA of at least 81% and no failing grade in any grading period and op\f no good moral character.

B. PROMOTIONAL POLICIES
1. Learners will be promoted to the next grade level if s/he has a final grade of at least 75 in all learning areas.
2. Learners shall pass remedial classes for learning areas with failing marks.
3. Promoted to SHS if passed all the learning areas in JHS.
C. RETENTION POLICIES
1. A student will be advised to transfer to other schools if s/he fails to meet expectations in two or more learning areas for Science Stream.
2. A student will be advised to transfer in three or more learning areas for BEC Stream
D. CODE OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
Minor/Light Offenses
1st Offense – Warning
2nd Offense – 1-day Suspension
3rd Offense – 1-week Suspension
1. Failure to pin school ID while in the university
2. Willful possession of 2 or more school ID
3. Lending/borrowing/tampering of school ID
4. Failure to wear school uniform
5. Failure to observe proper haircut
6. Male students wearing earrings
7. Loitering, staying at the corridors/lobby, playing all form of games inside and outside the classroom/quadrangle during class hours
8. Habitual cutting classes
9. Unbecoming conduct such as running, whistling, shouting, throwing garbage anywhere
10. Use of cellphones and other similar gadgets during classes except when required by the subject teachers
LESS SERIOUS OFFENSES
1st Offense – 1-day Suspension
2nd Offense – 1-week Suspension
3rd Offense – 1-month Suspension
1. Misconduct/ Mischief in class or in the campus
2. Assault/ threat/ fight with fellow student
3. Gambling inside the campus
4. Cheating during examinations
5. Attending classes drunk
6. Stealing or any form of dishonesty
7. Tearing school books, destroying instructional materials and bulletin board structures
8. Visiting internets café during class hours
Serious offenses
1st Offense – 1-day Suspension
2nd Offense – 1-month Suspension
3rd Offense – 1-year Suspension or Expulsion
1. Destroying school facilities and property
2. Assault, intimidation, threats against school authorities
3. Using, selling, possession of illegal drugs
4. Carrying of firearms or deadly weapons
5. Tampering, forging school records and credentials
6. Any form of vandalism
7. Grave misconduct
8. Committed criminal act in and outside the school
9. Disrespect to the Philippines flags by refusal to attend flag nation anthem and the pledge of allegiance to the flag
10. Use of school properties such as TV, computers, projectors of the school not in line with the topic or subject and without permission from the teachers or school official.
